The idea behind kensalqueenspark.com is to help bring people together in fun and informal ways.

Our area has many fantastic community groups and initiatives.  Some are well-resourced with lots of volunteers; some aren't.

But some people are shy, for example, to get involved with people they don't know or don't know how best they can help, especially with the limited amount of spare time they may have.

And local businesses also want to engage and also deserve our support.

We hope with ideas like the Kensal Tri team (i.e. "beat the Covid blues, meet people, get fitter, raise ££s for great local charities") we can have some fun together and get to know one another better.

Are you interested, for example, in supporting or proposing an event to raise some money, or volunteering some time to a local charity to help with fundraising. legal work, grant funding applications, social media nous, web design etc?

It could be that you know of a great idea that your school PTA or a charity in another area has successfully run which could work well.

To date we've helped raise awareness of, and money for: St Laurence's Larder, Sufra NW, Salusbury World, Kensal Rise Library, The Avenues Youth Project, Cricklewood Library, Elders Voice, Brent Centre for Young People, Granville Community Kitchen, and Kensal Green Under 5s

But we can grow this however we like.

We work with refugee and migrant families helping children, young people and parents to realise their rights and potential. We’re the only school-based refugee charity in the UK so we are uniquely placed to work with whole families.

A message today (5/12) from Salusbury World

Christmas is coming and you can make it matter.....

In the past you’ve been keen to be updated with news and successes of Salusbury World and right now we really need your help.

This year Salusbury World has celebrated 20 years supporting refugees of all ages rebuild their lives in the UK. Its small team of 10 staff and 150 volunteers have worked tirelessly providing children with mentoring and clubs, and giving adults essential advice and support.

The results have been terrific with many children going on to successful careers and families leading independent lives and contributing to the community in many different ways.   You can read all about our 20th anniversary year in The Brent and Kilburn Times.

However like all other organisations we are feeling the pinch. In fact to put it bluntly we are about to hit a funding crisis in Spring 2020 and you can really make a difference.

It costs about £300,000 to provide this invaluable support and we receive NO government funding. Salusbury World will be forced to drastically reduce or stop providing services by Spring 2020 unless we get support from our supporters like you and local businesses.

This Christmas we would really value your help with any donations; no matter how small your donation it will help us continue our valued work.

Please let us know if you can help, we’d love to say a big thank you on social media.

You can donate via https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/SalusburyWorldChristmas or straight into our bank account Salusbury World 08-92-99 65250594.

Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Best wishes from everyone at Salusbury World.
