A challenge anyone can do (without loads of training or special kit)
This is an event almost ANYONE can do. Bring the family or come on your own with us.
We took the largest group of people to this last year - almost 100.
Last year our youngest was 5 years old and the two eldest were 65!
And none of us were very fit.
The fast ran fast; the majority of us got round the best we could.
A great way to raise money
It's very easy to get sponsorship and we can help with that! (or just come join the fun with no sponsorship if you're prepared to pay our discounted entry fee yourself).
Our team members have raised over £40,000 for local charities from this event the past three years. we've found people are very happy to sponsor a friend trying Triathlon for the first time.
It's in beautiful grounds, with kids events (they can raise money too or leave that bit to the adults!) and "Sprint" and "Super Sprint" mini-Triathlon distances.
And there are Relay events - so if you don't like swimming (750 metres) you can just do the cycle (22 km) or run (5.4 km).
Meanwhile, if you agree to raise £100 or more for a local charity, The Moberly Sports Centre, the Maqam, Lizzie Barker PT and Gym Locomotive will help you get into shape for free!
Joining us this year are: Salusbury World, St Laurence's Larder, Sufra NW London, Kensal Rise Library, The Brent Centre for Young People, The Avenues Youth Project, Malorees Infant & Junior Schools....they would LOVE you to help fundraise for them, or choose your own charity.
The video above tells the story of last year's training and event. You can also get a feel for the types of people we are by clicking here for Gareth's very light-hearted 'recruitment' video.
Which charities are supported?
You choose! We particularly like local ones.
Last year our team supported Kensal Rise Library, Salusbury World, St Laurence's Larder, Sufra NW London, Kensal Rise Under 5s and Malorees Infant & Junior School. We also raised money for The Brownlee Foundation because of their outstanding efforts for Brent Schools.
If you're a charity or would like to help one by taking part please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you The Moberly Sports Centre, The Maqam, Daniels Estate Agents, bagsoflove, Maciej at Gym Locomotive and Lizzie Barker PT for all your support with this event (and all the light-hearted training).
How much will it cost me?
To book a place for Sprint or Super Sprint 'individual' event where you do all three legs (swim, bike, run) we ask that you consider making a donation of £39 (£19 for a Relay place where you do just one of the three legs) to one of our charities and agree to raise at least £100 in sponsorship.
We promise you will find that level of sponsorship very easy and we'll even help with an online sponsorship page and promotion of it!
So we have a sociable start time and Sunday Relay teams, we are entering the Corporate Waves at Blenheim, starting around midday, and the cost is usually £135 (£180 for a Relay Team) - so you're getting a 70% discount.
Non-corporate, regular entry to Blenheim Tri is around £100 and you obviously don't have to choose to do it with us. BUT......consider these benefits:
1. 70% off entry price
2. A 'month at the Moberly' Sports Centre to get into shape
3. Free 'Swimming Nature' swimming lessons
4. Free strength and mobility "MOT" with Maciej at Gym Locomotive
5. Free Lizzie Barker Group Training on Tiverton Green
6. Free lifts to Denham to try open water swimming (and lots of team runs and cycles)
7. Free "Kensal" Tri training top
8. Warm fuzzy feel from hugely supporting local charities and being part of a unique (& the largest) team at Blenheim
Other costs (and benefits): we will pool lifts to Blenheim, you can use ANY bicycle (even a shopping bike), and we may be able to lend wet suits.
Email to reserve a place. Places will likely sell-out by April and if you want to get fitter for the event then training opportunities with our groups are already available.
