A simple idea...

Would you like to gift food to someone who has asked for help?

You have surplus food but no time to drop off to a foodbank service?

You are interested in financially donating so we can purchase good food at low prices?

Or you'd be interested in buying from local businesses that donate to our food parcels?

The "Gift Your Neighbour" idea...

Local refugee charity Salusbury World worked with our resident associations, community organisations, mutual aid groups and local businesses during lockdown to create three local food hubs: Queens Park; Brondesbury (Maqam) & Kensal Green (William IV).

The three hubs raised over £9,000 in funding combined with hundreds of weekly donations from the community, allowing us to deliver over 3,000 meals to around 60 homes twice a week across Queens Park, Brondesbury, Kensal Green and Harlesden.

As of September 2020, our volunteers are focusing on our Monday hub, run at 22 Lonsdale Rd.

Food gift parcels

Our volunteers prepare gift parcel bags that have a mix of freshly-made food prepared the same morning by Community Response Kitchen, fruit/veg and food the household can cook with such as rice or pasta and tinned tomatoes.

These can be requested via

You can also use us as a 'drop off' point for non-perishable food for us to distribute to foodbanks (such as Brent Foodbank, Sufra NW London, North Paddington) or other food services in the area (such as The Granville Community Kitchen and, from Sept 17, St Laurence's Larder).

Every Monday volunteers from Salusbury World, local Residents' Associations & other volunteers prepare 'Gifts for neighbour' parcels to distribute to vulnerable families in the area.

Please bring donations between 1-3pm on a Monday to 22 Lonsdale Rd or we can collect from you at home.

(This hub was formerly at Salusbury School, St Anne's & Hugo's)

Our volunteers no longer prepare parcels at the Maqam on Wrentham Ave every Thursday but the team have very kindly offered to accept any food or toiletries donations.

Our team will use donations for our Monday parcels and share any perishables such as fruit and veg with Granville Community Kitchen and other partners.

Kensal Triangle Residents Association (KTRA) volunteers no longer prepare "Gift Your Neighbour"food parcels in the beautiful beer garden at William IV on Harrow Rd every Thursday. But they continue to arrange gift parcels for homes. A new drop-off point is being arranged.

We buy fresh food from local businesses as part of our #loveLocal initiative. Some of the participating businesses donate extra food for "Gift Your Neighbour" parcels based on how much we all buy.
